11/10/2021 Incentives for Vaccines

Jena, City of Bakersfield

Hello all---

I am doing a little research on any cities that may have incentivized staff to get their vaccine.  Did you provide an incentive?  If yes, what was it? One time payment, vacation time, etc?

Please also let me know if you did not provide any incentives.  I will collect the data and provide to all of you.

Thank you

No plan for offering an incentive at this time.

No incentives for Santa Monica either. With that said, some bargaining groups (sworn primarily) have yet to agree to the policy even that it's already in place. They are trying to get "something" through meet and confer process.

No incentives for us. Our Council decided to go the mandate route.

Hi Jena -

We are currently having these discussions.  The preference was to give a one-time financial incentive to both those that get vaccinated by a specified date, and those who have already provided verification of vaccine.

What we are struggling with is the exemption, ie medical or religious for both voluntary vaccinations and mandatory testing.  Do we verify the exemption?  Is it discrimation if we don't give those an incentive?  The exemption could become a free pass by those who currently oppose the mandates if eligible for an incentive.

Look forward to hearing what others are doing.
